Common booking questions.

Answers reflect the booking and policy rules implemented by Research Hub. Facility-specific instructions remain authoritative for an individual booking.

Who can use Research Hub?

Institutional faculty, staff, students and research scholars use the internal portal. Researchers and organisations outside the institution can register as external users.

Are bookings hourly?

No. The current booking unit is one facility for one whole day, and multi-day bookings use an inclusive date range.

Do internal users pay?

Internal bookings are normally free, but the policy recorded for the user and facility controls payment and approval requirements.

When is an external booking confirmed?

External users pay online before confirmation. If approval is required, payment is followed by coordinator review; otherwise successful payment confirms the booking.

Why are my dates unavailable?

Pending approvals, active payment holds, reservations, confirmed or in-use bookings, and maintenance can block a date. Expired payment holds release their dates.

How do I cancel?

Open My bookings and use the cancellation action when it is available. Your recorded cancellation window and refund percentage determine the outcome. For a booking that has started, contact the facility coordinator.

Where can I ask a facility question?

Use the coordinator details shown for the facility or on your booking. See contact guidance.
